Class 1 – Tom Hendrickson – Manual Therapy for Hip and Low Back Pain

This is a 6-hour class; must take P.M. class with Tom to receive CE’s.

This workshop will introduce students to a new way of working on acute and chronic pain in the low back and hip using Hendrickson Method (HM). HM is an advanced system of massage and manual therapy that is profoundly relaxing to receive, effortless to perform, and an efficient and effective treatment for low back and hip pain that can be easily incorporated into a massage therapist’s practice.

This is a two-day program; must take P.M. class on SATURDAY and both A.M. & P.M. Classes on SUNDAY; must commit to two days with Teri at registration in order to receive CE’s.

Our lymphatic system is our body’s natural immune system. A healthy lymphatic system can fight disease, repair injuries, recover from surgeries and repel negative influences naturally. It is also our natural beauty system, keeping our skin lubricated, glowing and flexible. We all know that glowing, fresh skin is a sign of good health.

Performance in sports or in life depends on our lymphatic system. When the lymphatics get blocked, through disease, old injuries, surgeries, allergic reactions, lifestyle, restrictive clothing, stress, dietary habits, etc., our bodies can’t do the effective job they were designed for.

Essential Lymphatic Performance™ is an eclectic combination of techniques, shared from teachers throughout the world ~ combined into a very gentle, soft-touch treatment that can aid all of these conditions. It is incredible effective, efficient, non-invasive, gentle release work with immediately observable results. It is also extremely effective in weight loss, pregnancy and detoxification and invaluable for working with inflammatory issues like clients with fibromyalgia, arthritis, lymph edema, etc. When working with athletes, it can improve their performance and speed injury repair.

You will learn a complete full body lymphatic treatment that can be performed completely clothed or draped on a massage table. You will understand why this is so essential to use in your practice and when and why to use it. You will see and feel immediate and measurable results as you are working and receiving this treatment.

This class is 25% lecture (Indications, Contraindications, Causes, Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology), 25% demonstration and 50% guided hands-on.

We will be working with our clothes on ~ so please wear loose, flexible, comfortable clothing ~ with a minimum of belts, zippers buckles or underwire bras. Layers work well ~ as we tend to get chilly when lying on the table ~ and then warm while we are working.

Please bring your massage table, table covers, bolsters and light blankets.

Class 3 – Carolyn Tague – Hospital Based Massage Therapy – What’s Happening 2017 (2-hour lecture)

This fun, interactive class will teach you 5 of the top, (hidden) strategies you absolutely need to incorporate into your practice to double your practice within 90 days! You will discover how to get fully booked up with your dream clients, and increase your income.

  • Learn how to structure your “Time Triangle” so you are booking clients when YOU want to work
  • Discover the ‘Million-Dollar magic words’ to say before, during and after your sessions to have clients eagerly book & re-book with you.
  • Practice the words to have clients beg you to book them (you will receive scripts) so they slide gracefully off your tongue with ease.
  • Understand how you are unique and use that to your advantage.
  • Learn my “Neon Sign Formula’ to uncover who your dream clients are and how to attract them.
  • Gain knowledge of how to get more clients from referral sources that are right under your nose (& it costs you nothing).

Through this class, you will learn how to be more confident in your conversations with potential and current clients, and referring partners. You will be able to help clients see the value of booking a session with you, and you will lock in some of the best ways to encourage clients to see you as often as you want them to — all with complete integrity and heart. Have you ever been caught not knowing what to say or how to respond to a client? This experiential workshop will offer insights and effective healing tools for working with clients who bring their experiences of stress, anxiety, grief and more to the session. I firmly believe that how practitioners of any discipline hold the space for client’s story makes the difference between a good practitioner and an excellent practitioner. Our clients deserve excellence, especially during times of significant stress.
These practices for building therapeutic relationships will help you better serve all your clients, and help keep you grounded and fulfilled in your practice.
